    Description

    This auction is for a RARE 1910 Treasurer's Office Illinois check. Inheritance tax collected.  Springfield, Illinois  Nov. 12, 1910.   Signed State Treasurer, Andrew Russel.  Now here is where it gets dicey....Mr. Russel served as Illinois Treasurer from 1909-1911 and from 1915-1917, then as Illinois Auditor of Public Accounts from 1917-1925 before being convicted of illegal banking practices in 1932 and dying in prison!  The INFAMOUS ANDREW RUSSEL!
