Lloyd & Co. Bankers. July 13, 1870. Ebensburg, Pa. Thomas Griffith. RN-H3. Brown/white. RN-H3. (Wm. Mann, 43 south 4th St. Phil). Fine. Thomas Griffith was born in 1818. His father owned a carding and fulling mill. Griffith and his brother purchased the mill and a water powered saw mill. Upon the death of his brother Griffith turned his attention to the saw mill. He became one of the largest Lumber dealers in Pa. Thomas Griffith had saw mills in Cambria, McKean and Elk counties. He was the most extensive cherry lumber dealer in Pa. During the latter part of his life he became interested in coal and oil. He owned tracts of coal land in the Blacklick coal region.
