    Description

    This auction is for an old hand painted porcelain vase. It is unmarked but is obviously Japanese in origin, probably from the Nippon era. The vase features three hand painted flower medallions surrounded by gold with a band of green around the middle. There is irregular shaped areas of cobalt painted at the top and bottom of the piece. The cobalt is trimmed in gold. The bulb shaped vase has three handles. The vase stands about 7 1/2 inches high. It has no chips, but there is a stress crack on the bottom that was created in the firing process when it was made.
