Original Arabian Horse Blue Topaz necklace Sterling Silver by Cindy A. Conter

Gorgeous, one of a kind, sterling silver necklace of two Arabian Horses nose to nose, forming a heart shaped necklace with faceted Blue topaz stone. This piece is detailed and VERY impressive, it is an original!!!
I made this piece by using the lost wax jewelry method (my business name when I started making mostly jewelry originals, was Lost Wax Jewelry by Cindy A. Conter, I started selling my art work at dog shows and horse shows in 1974, but always specialized in the sighthounds, I used to go to the Saluki Nationals and West coast shows to show my salukis and to sell my artwork. ) This piece is an original, cast by myself in sterling silver. It will arrive with a black cord to wear it on, but could be transferred onto a fine chain.
After I finished the wax carving of this piece, I invested it into a plaster like mold, burned out the wax and cast in the hot sterling silver. While still hot, I tossed the plaster (acturally called investment) mold into water which diluted out the plaster and left the silver piece. I then cut off the sprues and ground down the areas where they were attached and cleaned it up, I then polished it. This was a lot of work and if I made a mistake during casting, I had to start completely over as I did not make molds on my work, I did only originals (unless commissioned for special events and then I did limited editions. )
I made this piece in 1992, (I owned salukis and horses and centered my work around them),  it is signed on the back with my initials I no longer do original sterling silver jewelry, my last pieces were made through 1996.  I had to give up vendorships at dog show many years ago, so I am now selling my favorite sterling silver pieces on EBAY along with most of my artwork.
