Used for one international flight, before I had cervical spine surgery. Paid around for this new. I couldn't sit in an airplane seat without head support, and this worked very well for me. It really is a "bed in the clouds". I read in the reviews that it's also good for lumbar support, but I can't attest to that since I don't have lower back issues.
Takes about 10 full breaths to inflate, and it won't wind you because it doesn't require an excessive amount of air

. Depending on your size and preference for support, the valve is easy to unscrew for more or less air, WHILE YOU'RE SITTING DOWN IN YOUR SEAT. No need to get up, and when you land, just deflate and slip back into the drawstring bag. The valve is very secure and sturdy -- looks like it will last a long time with lots of usage.
* I inflated it fully for the photos -- so you could see the contouring -- but you won't have to go anywhere near that full when using. It's all about getting to your ergonomic comfort place.
Process: position it behind you (deflated) when you sit down, and the air valve is reachable over your shoulder for easy inflation. If you're short in the torso (where the depression for your head is too high), then you just sit on the end of the pillow and the air will move upwards. Very simple, smart design.
The heavy vinyl fabric is super strong and won't pop holes (like inflatable beds) unless it's REALLY abused or pierced with a sharp object.
Can be used in a car, or anywhere you need extra head support. I had cervical spine pain for years, and then surgery (fusion) and this pillow was a crucial part of my ability to travel comfortably before I got "fixed".
Weighs a little over one pound (in its carrying case).
The bag looks more worn than the pillow, so you probably can't pass it off as a new gift. I'll gladly refund your $ and shipping if you find something wrong with this item.
