    Description

    Vintage Victorian Style Rose Crewel Embroidery Completed Picture!
    This completed crewel embroidery rose is expertly stitched with embroidery floss. The stitching is in excellent condition!
    The rose measures approximately 9.5" tall x 7" across. The background fabric is linen with borders from another fabric handstitched to each side. I believe the side borders were added to make the piece easier to attach to a backing in order to frame the picture. This piece was formerly in an oval frame.
    The fabric does have discoloration but the worst areas of discoloration would be hidden if the piece was reframed in an oval frame. This piece would also be wonderful as a textile art applique on the back of a denim jacket, or added to the front of a pillow cover or tote bag.
